Therapeutic Massage is a broad term. All therapists will use a variety of techniques. And depending on who you are, different things work for different people. Intention is everything. What are we trying to accomplish? I utilize many techniques including myofascial/trigger point work, acupressure, reflexology, stretching, and of course, swedish. Pressure is relative. It doesn't have to hurt to benefit you. In fact, many subtle techniques are deeply profound and effective. That doesn't mean we can't work deeply. We certainly can.
Consider including the powerful adjunct of essential oils. They do so much more than just smell good! Essential oils carry the vibration and healing properties of the plants they are sourced from. I use Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils. |
Hospice SupportTouch therapy, as we reconcile with this moment in our lives, is profound work. When we are born, the first and most important source of comfort and nourishment is that of touch. Through this very simple act we can provide the compassion and support during transition. Therapeutic touch at this this time brings significant reduction in pain and anxiety and fosters feelings of peace and relaxation.

Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery each bring their own brand of stress to the body. Soft tissue work, scar tissue work, lymphatic work, and energy work all have a place within this arena, at the appropriate time.

This technique is deeply relaxing and can be combined with soft tissue work. The Reiki segment assists with the clearing and balancing of energy centers. Hands on portion for muscle balancing. Reiki is an excellent healing therapy in preparation for or recovery from surgery, chemotherapy, and all types of trauma.
